E-mail is rightfully dubbed as the most powerful communication tool be it for networking or marketing.

But sadly 70% of e-mails sent are left unopened, the most common cause being : Poor subject lines

Let’s fix that, shall we ?

Here are 7 Tips which will help you write killer subject lines which will help increase your open rate 📈

1.KISS (Keep it short & simple)💋

Keep it 40 character or short to make sure that they are not cut while viewing on mobile.

And, make sure that the headline is not too complicated to understand. Make it simple without any technical jargon.

2.Don’t be salesy🤑

Subject lines that are aggressively salesy are often the most likely to be marked as spam.

That means you should avoid loud punctuation like all caps and multiple exclamation points, as well as overtly promotional language like “Buy now” or “Free.”

3.Ask a compelling question⁉️

Asking questions is a known way to pique curiosity in the mind's of the reader which would not only grab their attention but will also inspire them to open the mail to know the answer to that question.

4.Add scarcity or fomo😱

I don’t want to freak you out, but humans have a deep fear of missing out—on anything. So email subject lines threatening scarcity (hurry, before it’s too late!) tend to perform well.

5.Be Local📍

Location-specific language show readers that you’ve done your homework. You know their vicinity and have a message that applies specifically to them.

Many readers open these emails whether or not they’re initially interested, just to see what’s happening locally.

6.Be controversial📛

We may never admit it but all of us love a bit of controversy so if you can add a little bit of controversy to your email you are golden but make sure to balance it out with useful info as well.

7.The magic of numbers🔢

Simply put, numbered lists are eyeball magnets(“7 Tips for Writing Killer Email Subject Lines,” anyone?)

List-based subject lines evoke reader curiosity, and they also imply that the email will be a relatively quick and easy read.

Do try these out and let me know if they worked for you or not ?
